Journey Through the Universe returns for an evening that brings together science, culture, and community. Hosted at the Gemini Observatory, this year’s event invites guests to explore astronomy through hands-on experiences, engaging talks, and stories that connect the sky above to life here in Hawaiʻi. Designed for students, families, educators, and curious minds of all ages, the evening blends learning with connection in a welcoming, informal setting. What to Expect Interactive science activities Explore activity and information stations throughout the venue that encourage curiosity, conversation, and discovery. Community voices and perspectives Hear from local Chamber Presidents and special guest Mayor Kimo Alameda as they share reflections on education, opportunity, and the role astronomy plays in our island community. Astronomy on Tap–style talks Enjoy short, engaging presentations designed to make complex ideas accessible and fun, including: • Black Holes and Uranus: Let’s Talk Some Science! with Anniek Gloudemans • Hawaiian Star Stories with Leilehua Yuen Food and fellowship Gather over shared food, conversation, and connection throughout the evening.
